Ronald L. Crossland

CROSSLAND, Ronald Lee, 85 of Mahone Bay, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 1, 2012.

Born in Mahone Bay on May 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Freeman and Beulah (Veinotte) Crossland.

After retirement, he enjoyed the Chester Basin Over Forty Club and the Sunny Side Seniors Card Club.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean (Ernst); his daughters, Karen Field, Bridgewater; Evelyn Knickle (Jeffery), Red Deer, AB; son, Douglas Crossland, Middle Sackville. He was blessed with grandchildren, Todd Field, Brent Knickle, Lorie Knickle, Joseph Crossland and Leigh Crossland and great grandchildren, Cody and Kailey Knickle. Ronnie is also survived by sisters, Joyce Eisnor, Mahone Bay and Marjorie Connors, Prescott, ONT; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronnie enjoyed his role as husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. It is with a sad heart that we say good-bye.

Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Stephen P. Kristenson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery, Clearland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Victorian Order of Nurses, Lunenburg County Branch.
