Mabel G. J. Veinotte
VEINOTTE, Mabel Gertrude J. (Bruhm), recently residing at Mahone Nursing Home and formerly of Middle New Cornwall, NS passed away August 30, 2012.

Born April 29, 1925 in Middle New Cornwall, the daughter of J. Wilbert and Lillie Bruhm, she was predeceased by sisters Mildred and Marion and brothers Murray and Maurice.

She is survived by husband Lawrence of 62 years; daughters, Ann (David) Martin, Fredericton, NB; Kathy (Tim) Rafuse, Middle New Cornwall; son, Kendall (Shelagh) and Shelagh's son Ross, Northwest; grandchildren Jason, Michael, Jennifer and Tessa.

In early life she taught school in Port Medway, Middle and Upper Cornwall and Blockhouse. Founding and active partner in Lawrence S. Veinotte Enterprises and Lawral Enterprises, Mabel made lasting friendships through the businesses. friendships. She served on the Board of the LaHave Manor Corporation and The Municipal Board of Health. Mabel was an active member of the New Cornwall United Baptist Church, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved youth and enjoyed seeing them strive to reach their potential. Mabel was an accomplished seamstress and taught friends and neighbours to sew. Puttering in a small garden and cultivating Christmas trees were her relaxation. She loved the family log cabin at Lake Mush-a-Mush. Her relaxed style and ease of entertaining at the cabin provides many happy memories for family and friends.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday, September 2 at Mahone Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 3 at New Cornwall United Baptist Church, Rev. John E. Boyd and Rev. Tom Davidson officiating. Interment will be in New Cornwall Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the New Cornwall United Baptist Church and designated for the New Cornwall Sunday School.
