Esther Vivian Dunn
DUNN, Esther Vivian - 68, Gold River, died suddenly at home on
Thursday, March 31, 2005. Born in Upper New Cornwall, she was a
daughter of the late Douglas and Carrie (Barkhouse) Jefferson.
In earlier years, she had been a cashier with the former Dominion grocery stores in Dartmouth and Truro. She then worked in Jerry's Used Clothing, Gold River when it first opened until her retirement. She loved her flower gardens, they were her passion. She fed her wild ducks every morning and dearly loved her Jack Russell Terrier, 'Chester'. Her children and grandchildren were the true love of her life.
Esther is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter, Nadine (Mark) DeMont, Chester Basin; son, Derwin (Crystal) Swinemar; Western Shore; grandchildren, Kyle, Kourtney, Brandon, Jared and Ian; sister, Ann (Bill) Ebert, Farmingdale, Me., brothers, Berton (Patsy) Jefferson, Western Shore; Douglas (Gloria) Jefferson, Bridgewater; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; infant daughter, Gina; step-father, Arthur Butt.
Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2005 in Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay, where memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2005, Rev. Leo Gallant officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Upper Cornwall Cemetery.
