Cheryl L. "Cherie" Harris

Cheryl Lauraine"Cherie" Harris, 60, Lower Sackville passed away March 15, 2009 in the QE11 Heath Science Center, Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Lunenburg, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Verda (Bruhm) Zinck.

Cherie was a graduate of Mahone Bay Consolidated High School, later graduating in 1970 from Mount Allison University with her BA, then graduating in 1971from Acadia University with her B. Ed.. She went on to teach at Sycamore Elementary School, Lower Sackville. She enjoyed gardening, making crafts and tole painting. She loved nature, birds and camping and had a lifetime involvement with Girl Guides of Canada. Cherie will always be remembered by those who knew her as a kind and gentle spirit and was an inspiration to all.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughters, Allison Harris, Lower Sackville; Rebecca (Ron) Thomson, Hammonds Plains; sister, Gayle (Bill) Thomas, Blockhouse; niece, Joni Lee (Jody) Thomas; nephew, Jarrod (Catheryn)
Thomas; great-niece, Georgia Lee.

No visiting by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Stephen Kristenson officiating. A reception to follow. Memorial donations may be
