Rickie Hamm
1954-2009
Rickie was a member in good standing of Carpenters Union, Local 183; a past member of the Blockhouse Volunteer Fire Department and owner of Hamm’s U-Cut Christmas Trees. He lived his life loving his family and friends and took pride in his sons and his work. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and the forest. Rickie was a good and faithful steward of everyone and everything in his care.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda (Adams) Hamm; sons, Jesse and Jacob, at home; mother, Mary Hamm, Martins Point; brothers, Reid (Coleen); Robin (Gail) all of Martins Point; sisters, Patricia Hamm (Lindsay), Martins Point; Nancy Stratten (Fred), Martins River; his uncle, Floyd Crossland (June), Clearland. He is also mourned by nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Beatrice Adams; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their partners.
He was predeceased by his father, James Hamm and sister, Elaine Andrews.
Visiting will be 7-9 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2009 in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay, The Rev. Stephen Kristenson officiating.
Burial will be in Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse, followed by a reception to be held at the Blockhouse Fire Hall.
Family flowers only please. Memorial donations are requested to be made to Blockhouse Volunteer Fire Department; Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia; St. John’s Lutheran Sunday School or charity of your choice.
