Richard Wm. Nauss
Richard William Nauss - 63, of Oakland, died peacefully, June 5, 2011, after a short battle with cancer, with his family by his side, at Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.

Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of Myrtle (Eisnor) Nauss, Martin’s River, and the late Clyde Nauss. He worked at ABCO Fibreglass Plant and was a member of the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and had served a peace keeping tour in Cyprus. After the army, he worked for F.U. Mader Hardware Store; the Halifax Shipyard; barbering in Lunenburg and Chester; painting with contractors in Halifax and Mahone Bay area then becoming self-employed until his death.

Surviving are his wife, Leverne (Heisler) Nauss; sons, Mark (Donna Arenburg), Maplewood; Terry (Shannon Saunders), Lunenburg; Paul (Annette), Chester Grant; Colin (Nicole Kripps), Wainwright, AB; grandchildren, Ashley, Kerra, Keith, Cole, Riley, Charley, Elizabeth and Rosealee; sisters, Dianne (Charles) Booth, Maitland; Darlene Mailman, Martin’s River; half-sister, Ethel Nauss (Reg Risser), Northwest Rd.; brothers, Keith, and Garry (Doreen), all of Martin’s River; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by infant son, Richard Harvey Nauss. No visiting by request.

A graveside committal service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse, Rev. Sherrolyn Riley officiating. Flowers from the immediate family only.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society; Mahone Bay United Baptist Church; St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Martin’s River; Martin’s River Fire Department or Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital.
