June C. Ernst
1922-2016
Born May 29, 1922 in Gold River, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Jean (Hyson) Swinamer.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater and a past member of St. Martin’s Anglican Church and ACL, Martin’s River. June was affectionately known as “Nannie” to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her special care givers at Mahone Nursing Home, several nieces and nephews. She had a great sense of humour, the sweetest smile, so honest and very kind. We love you Mom. June enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, going to church, reading and visits from her dear neighbours in Bridgewater, Bob, Diane and Ruth.
June is survived by daughters, Dorothy (Wayne) Lewis, Falmouth; Marie (Robert) White, Martins River; sisters, Evelyn, Mahone Nursing Home; Neva, Mahone Bay; Rita, Don Mills, Ont.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Perry; son, Richard; infant sister, Rita Mildred; brothers, Karl and Cecil; nephew, Ronald; brothers-in-law, Theodore and Donald.
Cremation has taken place. No visiting by request. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Martin’s River, Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. Interment will be in St. Martin’s Cemetery, Martins River.
Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martin’s Anglican Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
