Janet Ann Kaulback

Janet Ann Kaulback, age 70, passed away February 11, 2023 at her home in Oakland.

A daughter of Oran “John” E., and Glennie E. (Demone) Kaulback, she was born in Oakland on April 17, 1952.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Mary Hirtle; brother-in-law, Andrew Hirtle; brother, Robert “Bobbie” Kaulback and sister, Marie Kaulback.

She is survived by her brother, David Kaulback; sister-in-law, Kate Tweed; nieces, Sherry Doucette (Maurice, Justin and Abby Doucette); Peggy Hirtle (Aiden and Austin Deratnay); Mary Lou Kaulback (Jeff, Holly and Lilly Climenhaga); Kelly Kaulback (Brian Joudrey) and Lori Kaulback.

Janet loved all things animals. Over the years she cared for her beloved dogs and birds and always fed the wildlife that visited her in her yard in Oakland. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching hockey, her team being the Toronto Maple Leafs. She also was on various bowling leagues and spent a lot of time with her second family “The Zwicker’s”.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2023 in Park Cemetery, 47 Park Street off Kinburn Street, Mahone Bay. Reverend James Haughn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
