Everett Cecil Murray Sawler
Everett Cecil Murray Sawler passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on the evening of April 21st 2023, at the age of 82.

He was predeceased by his parents, Francis & Vera Sawler and sisters, Goldie Selig & Ferne Miller.

He is fondly remembered by his wife of 60 wonderful years, Marilyn (Rafuse); his children, Marsha and Derek (Charlene); grandchildren Luke & Claire; siblings, Avis (Leo) Swinimer, Faye (Harold) Hennigar, Cecil (Geraldine) Sawler, Douglas (Pam) Sawler; brother in-law Wayne Selig, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Everett was an avid volunteer in his lifelong community of Western Shore, where he was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed playing hockey, baseball and was the oldest undefeated participant in the local Fireman’s Punt Races. Everett was at home in the outdoors and when not being at the heart of family gatherings, he could be found hunting, fishing, tending his garden, or working around his cottage on Horseshoe Lake.

A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday April 25th at Mahone Funeral Home, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay. Masks are recommended.

There will be a graveside service, 11:00am, Wednesday, April 26th at the Western Shore Cemetery, 6630 NS Hwy 3, Western Shore. Please bring your own chair, umbrella if needed and dress accordingly for the weather.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the fourth-floor medical staff of South Shore Regional Hospital, the Cancer Clinic, Palliative Care, the VON and for all the love and support of family and friends.
