Michael Wayne "Mike" Meredith
1966-2023
Mike was born March 1st 1966 in Fredericton, NB and at the age of 6 moved to Mahone Bay where he attended Mahone Bay School and later PVEC. He had many interests and passions as a teenager from being a life guard at the Mahone Bay pool, playing basketball at Mahone Bay school and joining the youth choir at St. James Anglican Church and would go on to make many good friends far and wide. Many of whom he stayed connected to until this day. Mike was known to keep his “circle of friends” going, even to the end.
Mike was a graduate of Dalhousie University and enjoyed employment over the years in pharmaceutical sales, mortgage brokerage and more recently medical equipment sales for Inter-Medico.
He spent much of his spare time at his cottage on Big Mush Mush Lake, often found boating and meeting up with friends or at his Father’s camp in Walden where he enjoyed hunting and fishing in and around Whale Lake.
Michael lived life to the fullest and cherished his family and friends. He was fearless, confident, a man of great conviction and determination. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you felt it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love and consideration for his family. He will be missed dearly.
Mike is survived by his partner and love of his life, Kimberly Whynot (stepdaughters, Madison and Alexa) of Lunenburg, his 2 sons from previous marriages, William and Nicholas Meredith of Dartmouth; parents, Bill and Betty Meredith of Mahone Bay; younger brother, Eric Meredith (sister in-law, Kathleen and nephew, Abdiel) of Mahone Bay; niece and great-niece, Natasha and Ella Meredith of Dartmouth.
Special thanks to Dr. Christian Pugh, GP Oncologist and Paula Saile, Palliative Care Nurse at South Shore Regional Hospital. Your compassionate care during Michael’s journey was a comfort to both him and the family.
When you see a hummingbird or a cardinal, think of Mike. In honor of his life, we ask that you consider a random act of kindness today as Mike had often done.
If you love something, love it completely, cherish it, say it, but most importantly show it. Life is finite and fragile, and just because something is there one day, it might not be the next. Never take that for granted. Say what you need to say, then say a little more. Say too much. Show too much. Love too much. Everything is temporary but love. Love outlives us all. ~ R. Queen.
