It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of Maureen Joyce (Adams) Myra of Gold River, at the age 88, on August 30, 2024 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Maureen was born on February 11, 1936 in Chester Basin to the late James Adams and Irene (DeMont) Adams.

Maureen worked for Sears then Adams Bottle Exchange in Gold River, the family business. She also was an Avon representative for many years.

Maureen and Justin “Sonny” spent 54 loving years together. They first welcomed daughter, Darcie and then son, Kelly. Marueen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Maureen enjoyed Bingo and watching sports with her family in person or on the television. She loved watching her children, and later on, her grandchildren play softball and hockey, she would never miss a game or practice. You could always count on the white van in the parking lot. When she would hear Stompin’ Tom Corners she would sing along with “Good Ole Hockey Game”. She would light up when Johnny Cash come on. She was a devoted Toronto Maple leaf FANNNNN.

Maureen loved to go for drives with Sonny. They took many vacations to Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Nashville and Massachusetts. In later years she and Sonny enjoyed many drives together looking for deer and enjoying Tim Horton’s.

Maureen is predeceased by her husband, Justin “Sonny” and her loving parents, James and Irene Adams.

Maureen is survived by her daughter, Darcie (Ivan); son, Kelly (April); four grandchildren, Tyler, Brady, Madden and Gracie; sister Nellie, (Raymond); many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was loved by all.

The family would like to thank the Mahone Nursing Home staff for all the love and care they gave her also the Doctors, Nurses and staff of South Shore Regional Hospital for the care they provided to Maureen in her time of need.

The family kindly asks that memorial donations be considered for Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Grace Anglican Church.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4th 2024 at Western Shore Cemetery, Hwy 3, Western Shore, Reverend Shirley Carras officiating.
