Helen Janet Cameron

It is with great sadness that the family of Helen (Crosbie) Cameron, 88, of Maders Cove, announce her unexpected passing November 4, 2024 in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia after a short stay at the hospital.

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Thomas and Betty (Freeman) Crosbie.

Helen was a graduate of VG Nursing School and loved working as a nurse, helping her patients and had a huge passion for assisting anyone in need. She began her career as a VON community nurse and then worked at the Victoria General Hospital for many, many years. Helen loved her family and friends dearly and they loved her. Her constant smile, kindness and caring was part of her everyday character that we will all miss.

Helen is survived by her husband, Ronald of 64 plus years, Maders Cove; her son, Andrew (Anni Bretschneider) Schomberg, Ontario; her daughter, Gail (Steve) Salomon, Charleston, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her sister Liz Mahaney. She loved her grandchildren and great grandson very much and enjoyed all the many visits they had with her in Maders Cove. She will be dearly missed by them: Jenna (Jake) Carr, Mackenzie Cameron, Nicole Salomon, Rees Cameron, and great grandson, Knox Carr.

She was predeceased by her parents and grandson, Connor.

There will be a celebration of her life in the Spring (her favourite season) 2025.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Lunenburg County Branch.
