Joan Marie Mosher

Joan Marie Mosher - 54 of Western Shore passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at home.

Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of Thomas and Jannette (Rafuse) Swinamer, Western Shore.

Joan worked for the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, first at Hubbards and then Chester. She loved the time spent at the camp on Vaughans Lake with Jessica and goddaughter, Hannah. Her dogs, Shadow and Tia were dear to her heart.

Joan is survived by her husband, Christopher; daughter, Cora Coolen and son, Clary (Jami) Coolen, both of Hubbards; sister, Donna Ross, Yarmouth; brothers, Chris (Mary) Swinamer, Judique; Paul (Patricia) Swinamer, Blockhouse; Terry (Patricia) Swinemar, Beech Hill; special “Momma”, Rhena and Robert “Poppa Smurf” Mosher, Western Shore; grandchildren, Camden, Scarlette, Brea and Griffin; grandmother, Lena Rafuse, Gold River.

At Joan’s request, there will not be visiting hours. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 3 at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, Rev. Bonnie Baird officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter or Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada.

Special thank you to Joan’s loving brother, Paul, for always making sure she got to all her appointments, to Wanda of the Victorian Order of Nurses for her home care, to her sister-in-law, Annette Langille for all her special help and to special friends, Sascha, Regula and Miguel, Switzerland.
